On the 10th of October 16 young carers set off with 5 members of PKAVS staff on a residential break to London.
The young carers had an absolutely amazing time and visited many sites including, Houses of Parliament, the London Eye, Madame Tussauds, London Bridge, Tower of London and much more!!
Below are just some of the quotes from the Young Carers who attended:
"I am more relaxed and willing to try new experiences. I am happier compared to before I went to London"
"I have felt more relaxed and happy and less stressed"
"More confident, less anxious in busy areas and more happy about myself"
"More confident around new people"

The purpose of Young Carers Awareness Day is to raise public awareness of the challenges faced by young people because of their caring role.
