On the 10th of October 16 young carers set off with 5 members of PKAVS staff on a residential break to London.
The young carers had an absolutely amazing time and visited many sites including, Houses of Parliament, the London Eye, Madame Tussauds, London Bridge, Tower of London and much more!!
Below are just some of the quotes from the Young Carers who attended:
"I am more relaxed and willing to try new experiences. I am happier compared to before I went to London"
"I have felt more relaxed and happy and less stressed"
"More confident, less anxious in busy areas and more happy about myself"
"More confident around new people"

During Carers Week we organised a young carers consultation event, to help raise the profile of Young Carers and what support services they need.
We are looking to gather a highly motivated bank of Tutors in all areas of the Curriculum to work on a 1-1 basis with young people for a time-limited period.
A group of young carers from across Scotland shared their experience of caring and helped Young Scot to create a package of benefits to be offered to all young carers in Scotland.
