PKAVS Young Carers have provided another jam-packed fun-filled Easter Holiday programme for young carers across Perth and Kinross.
This included 9 young carers aged between 12-15 years enjoying a residential to Outward Bound which involved camping, canoeing, rock climbing and much more!
We also took 12 young carers aged between 7-9 years to enjoy a residential to Hopscotch - they had a great week doing walking, horse riding, playing at the beach, speed boats at Glencoe and a Gondola at the Ben Nevis range.
In addition to the two residentials they held a sports day event at Bells Sports Centre, and a day out to M & D's theme park.
Overall 72 young carers enjoyed either a trip or residential throughout the Easter holidays allowing them to have time away from their caring role, spend time with friends and be children first and carers second.
The purpose of Young Carers Awareness Day is to raise public awareness of the challenges faced by young people because of their caring role.
The end of last year was a very busy time for our Young Carers as always! Read on to find out what they got up to!
We are delighted to announce that Young Carers have been awarded a grant from The Crerar Trust. This funding will prove invaluable in helping us to plan a fun, action packed respite programme for all.
